1:1 Piano Lessons
FAQ
How are your lessons like?
My approach is very step-by-step. I am very patient and I always encourage my students to ask questions during the lessons.
What instrument do you use for teaching?
I give my lessons on a grand piano.

Can I book a one-off lesson before committing to weekly/fortnightly lessons?
You are more than welcome to book your first lesson without commitment. We will be discussing lesson plan and please bring a piano piece you have played if you have learnt the piano before. I will work on the piece with you so you can see if my teaching style is suitable for you.

What languages do you speak?
All lessons are taught in English. I also teach in Cantonese or Mandarin upon request.

Where are you based?
I am based in North Greenwich, minutes away from the North Greenwich tube station (Jubilee line) and the beautiful Thames River.

Do you prepare students for Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) examinations?
Yes. If you need help succeeding in ABRSM exams, please get in touch.
See exam dates and fees: https://gb.abrsm.org/en/exam-booking/exam-dates-and-fees/

I am an adult student, would it be too late for me to learn the piano?
It’s never too late to learn a musical instrument if that has always been on your bucket list! Whether it is for a special occasion or a new goal in life, you are welcome to get in touch to schedule a lesson with me.

Do you teach online*?
Yes. Online lessons are as rewarding as in-person lessons!
*We could arrange a mix of in-person and online lessons each month to fit your busy schedule versus a completely online arrangement.

How are the lessons arranged?
Except for your first lesson, minimum commitment is as below:

For in-person and online lessons,
4 weekly lessons each month (minimum 45-min each*)

All lessons are invoiced monthly and payable by bank transfer.

If you would like to prepare a specific set of piano pieces for special occasions, please get in touch for a customised lesson plan!

What is the notice period for lessons I wish to change?
Please give at least 48 hours notice of any change due to special circumstances (e.g. school event, student’s own scheduling conflict). I will schedule a make-up lesson for you. In the case of illness/injury, please give your notice of absence as soon as possible.
